What was recalled
The recall covers two wet-food pâtés:
- Fromm Turkey Pâté — sold in 12.2-ounce cans under UPC 072705118700, Lot Code EP2A3306 551006
- Fromm Diner Classics Milo’s Meatloaf Pâté — sold in 12.5-ounce cans under UPC 072705132324, Lot Code EP2A3306 551029
Both carry a best-by code of 032029, which reads as March 2029. Together, the two lots total 5,825 cases, according to the recall notice — 3,852 cases of the Turkey Pâté and 1,973 cases of the Meatloaf Pâté. Fromm says no other products are affected; the recall is limited to these two lot codes.
Health risks
The company received complaints describing potential metal contamination in both products before issuing the recall; Fromm has not said how metal may have gotten into the cans. The FDA warns that a dog eating contaminated food could choke, vomit, lose its appetite, become lethargic, or develop stomach discomfort. Sharp fragments carry a further risk of cutting a dog’s mouth or gastrointestinal tract, and larger pieces could cause a partial blockage or a full intestinal obstruction. As of the most recent update, on August 23, 2026, no illnesses or injuries had been reported in connection with either product.
What to do if you have a recalled can
If you have one of the recalled cans, stop feeding it to your dog and return it to the retailer where you bought it. Questions can go to Fromm at 1-800-325-6331, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Central time, or by email at info@frommfamily.com.
Background
It’s not the first recall for Fromm, a fifth-generation, family-owned company founded in 1904 and based in Mequon, Wisconsin, where its manufacturing plant has operated since 1925. The two events are unrelated: Fromm pulled about 300 cases of its Bonnihill Farms BeefiBowls frozen dog food in December 2025 over possible plastic contamination, a different product line and a different cause.
