Christopher Aaron Nicks, the younger brother and only sibling of Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks, died Friday, September 4, 2026, at age 72. The cause was cancer; his family says he had been fighting the disease privately for roughly two and a half years.

His daughter, Nixi Parkinson Nicks, announced the death that day in a social media post: “It is with a broken heart that I announce the passing of my father, Christopher Aaron Nicks, early this morning, surrounded by family.” The family has not disclosed what type of cancer he had. They say he chose to keep the diagnosis largely out of public view so the people around him would not worry.
Fleetwood Mac co-founder Mick Fleetwood posted his own tribute afterward: “The passing of Chris Nicks has brought so many memories of his amazing life … Much of course was shared connected to Fleetwood Mac. His zest for life will be a forever beacon of inspiration!!” Stevie Nicks had not made any public statement about her brother’s death.
His work with Stevie Nicks
Christopher Nicks’ connection to his sister’s career went well beyond family ties. He received a songwriting credit on “The Nightmare,” a track from Stevie Nicks’ 1985 solo album “Rock a Little,” and appeared in her music videos for “Talk to Me” — where he played saxophone — and “I Can’t Wait.” Behind the scenes, he worked on merchandise operations for several of her solo tours through the 1980s and 1990s — Rock a Little, The Other Side of the Mirror, Street Angel and Enchanted — and personally introduced her onstage during those runs.
Who survives him
He is survived by his daughter, Nixi Parkinson Nicks; his son-in-law, Alec; two grandchildren, Roman and Willow; his former wife, Lori Perry, the mother of his daughter Nixi; and his sister, Stevie Nicks. Perry and Christopher divorced on December 5, 2017; she sang backup vocals for Stevie Nicks for years and remained connected to the extended Fleetwood Mac circle through that work.
