Yellowjackets Season 4, the Show’s Final Season, Premieres November 20 on Paramount+

“Yellowjackets” is ending, and the show has set a date. Season 4 — confirmed as the final season — arrives Friday, November 20, 2026, on Paramount+’s Premium plan.

Showrunners Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson confirmed in October 2025 that the fourth season would close out the story, calling it a creative decision rather than a cancellation. “After three incredible seasons,” they said, “we will be bringing the story of Yellowjackets to its twisted conclusion in this fourth and final season.”

What the new season is about

Paramount+’s official synopsis sets up the stakes: “As the survivors race to bury their sins before rescue arrives and an old flame roars back into town with plans of her own, turns out not every homecoming is a joyous one, and this one’s going to sting.” That single line spans both timelines the show cuts between: the wilderness survival story, where rescue hasn’t happened yet, and the present-day storyline roughly 25 years later, where a returning old flame is stirring things up.

The series follows the teenage survivors of a 1996 plane crash, jumping between their fight to stay alive in the wilderness and their lives roughly 25 years later, once they’re back in the world. The first three seasons left plenty of mysteries hanging, while the fourth season is set to bring the series to its conclusion.

A first look, MTV News style

Paramount+ released an official teaser trailer around August 20, 2026, leaning into the show’s 1990s setting. It’s styled like an old MTV News broadcast, and it actually brings back Kurt Loder, the real former MTV News anchor, playing himself to announce — within the story — that the missing Wiskayok Yellowjackets have been found and rescued. The teaser weaves in footage from the past three seasons and closes on Natalie’s radio cry from the Season 3 finale: “Can anyone hear me?!”

Who’s coming back — and who’s new

Most of the cast is reprising their roles for the final run: Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, Warren Kole, Kevin Alves and Sarah Desjardins. Nia Sondaya and Jenna Burgess have both been promoted to series regular this season, playing Akilah and teen Melissa.

Two notable additions join the cast. Molly Ringwald has signed on to play Vicky, described as a recently recovered alcoholic trying to make up for her past — the mother of an already-established character, Van Palmer. Van is played across the show’s two timelines by returning cast members Lauren Ambrose and Liv Hewson. June Squibb has also joined the cast, though her role hasn’t been made public yet.

Where to watch it

Season 4 streams on Paramount+’s Premium plan. The show got its start on the Showtime cable network, and the premium streaming tier that now carries it has changed names twice — rebranded “Paramount+ with Showtime” in January 2024, then renamed “Paramount+ Premium” in June 2025 — but it still carries Showtime-library titles, “Yellowjackets” among them.

The show was renewed for Season 4 in 2025, and the fourth season was announced as the final season in October 2025. The final-season announcement came ahead of the completed Paramount-Skydance merger, which brought new leadership to the network and streamer.
