Three children’s toys are off store shelves this week after federal safety regulators tied each one to a choking or ingestion risk for young kids: a spinning toy sold by SHEIN, a squishy toy sold by an Amazon seller, and a teether from Skip Hop. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the three recalls in early September 2026; the notices report no injuries.

Part of a busier year for toy recalls
These three land in a busy year for CPSC toy recalls: records show at least seven other children’s toys recalled in 2026 for similar hazards — including wooden bead stacking toys, magnet-embedded pounding toys, a building toy set with a battery-ingestion hazard, and pull-string teething toys — mostly for small-parts, magnet and water-bead ingestion risks that a young child could swallow.
The three recalls
SHEIN’s Spiral Toy
The first is SHEIN Distribution Corporation’s “Spiral Toy” (recall 26-732), a stacking and spinning toy topped with a bear or bull head, with three, five or seven colored platforms and yellow plastic balls. It’s marketed to children under 3, but those small yellow balls violate the federal small-ball ban and create a deadly choking risk, CPSC says. About 963 were sold, only on SHEIN.com, from September 2025 through May 2026, for $6 to $16. Anyone who has one can get a full refund from SHEIN after confirming they’ve thrown away the whole toy, including the balls, by calling 833-853-8668 (9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pacific, Monday through Friday) or emailing uscsteam@shein.com.
Squeezy Dumplings on Amazon
The second recall covers “Squeezy Dumplings,” translucent squishy balls shaped like a bamboo steamer basket, imported and sold on Amazon.com by Chenyuanhui. Inside each one are water beads that can expand if a child swallows one — a serious ingestion, choking and intestinal-obstruction hazard, according to CPSC. About 8,000 were sold between May and June 2026 for around $20. Consumers are asked to write “RECALLED” on the toy, throw it away, and email a photo of the discarded toy to GIHNJSI_recall@163.com — the contact address listed in CPSC’s own recall notice — to get a refund.
Skip Hop’s Elmo teether
The third recall is Skip Hop’s Baby Sesame Street Elmo Silicone Teether, sold at Carter’s stores and online at carters.com and skiphop.com from January 2025 through March 2026 for about $12. Freezing the teether can pop its black eyes loose, and CPSC says a detached eye is a choking hazard. About 22,660 were sold in the United States, plus roughly 3,177 in Canada. Skip Hop says it has received four consumer reports of the eyes coming loose; its notice reports no injuries. The company is offering a gift-card refund through skiphoprecall.com that can be spent at Carter’s, Skip Hop, OshKosh B’gosh or Little Planet.
Not the same as last year’s SHEIN recall
Searching for the SHEIN recall can also turn up an older, similar-sounding one: in August 2025, CPSC recalled a “Spiral Tower Toy” with a basketball-hoop design, sold on SHEIN.com by a different company, STWUQIKONG, in a much smaller batch of about 260 units. That is a separate case with its own recall number — not the same product, and not a reissue of this month’s SHEIN recall.
What to do if you have one of these toys
If one of these three is sitting in a toy bin at home — the SHEIN spinner, the Amazon squeeze toy or the Skip Hop teether — stop giving it to a child right away. Match it against the details above, then go straight to that company’s own recall process: SHEIN’s phone line or email, GIHNJSI’s mark-and-photograph steps, or Skip Hop’s gift-card site.
